A Great Deal!

I have been working on more of those Cookie Sheet Calendars. They are so much fun!
I had to share this awesome deal I found to use on them.
Kevin took me to Michaels on Saturday so I could get some of those foam paint brushes that were on sale (15 for $1) and right next door is a little store called Tuesday Morning. I could spend hours there. They always have different stuff. Their craft aisle is of course my favorite.
I couldn't believe it when I found these clear alphabet sets by Love Elsie for only $1.99. I wasn't sure if they included numbers or not, but knew I could use them anyway.
All but one ended up having numbers!
I started to choose one or two but Kevin said get them all. Who am I to refuse my husband? LOL
I would love to know.....
what kind of deals have you found recently?
You know, let's call it "Blog Candy"! I will send one of these Love Elsie sets to a random entry with an answer to the question above. Please comment on this post to enter and I will draw a winner next Friday (Feb 4)!
There will be extra chances to win this week as well, so check back often.
Please return then to see if your entry won!
Blessings~
Angel

Butterfly Card & Butterfly Kisses!

I hoard paper! I have to admit. I recently went through my designer paper stash and got rid of quite a lot of it. And to my credit, I have not entered a Michael's or Hobby Lobby in months. I really could papercraft from my personal stash for YEARS. I would quickly run out of certain solid colors, but otherwise I would be fine. How about you?
Having said all of that, I would love to know what designer papers you've fallen in love with recently! Leave me a comment and I will draw a name and send the winner an RAK!
As for me- my recent obsession is with K & Company papers. I absolutely LOVE their "Urban Rhapsody" line. I used three of the papers from that pack on this butterfly card for Taylor's TESC84. I also used the Xyron Creatopia for that embossed scallop border. Ain't it cute? The sentiment comes from Paper Trey's "Little Lady" set and I also used the "trail" stamp from that set for a template for my jeweled butterfly trail. Fun and easy.
I had a very productive stamping weekend and I've got several cards on my desk to edit and post. I may have to post every day this week to get caught up!
Don't forget to comment! One comment per person please. I will draw a winner on Monday, October 19th and contact the winner. If you don't leave an email address, you'll need to check back to see if you've won!
Have a blessed day!

Blog Hoppin for the ODBD Anniversary!!!

It's time! Time to celebrate and time to HOP!
We're celebrating the One-year Anniversary at Our Daily Bread designs!
One year ago today ODBD owner Kelley Holland began her adventure.
What a fun adventure it has been and look where we are ONE year later! LOTS of inspirational stamps and an ever-growing selection of tools, papers and accessories!
Thanks for stopping on your way through our first Blog Hop. If you didn’t know about our Blog Hop and landed here by chance, there are goodies for you along the way and it’s important to hit the blogs in the order of the Hop. You’ll want to start out with
Dina at Mama Dina’s Stamperia. If you followed me here from Holly's blog, then you are in the right place! There is blog candy along the way and even I don’t know where it is, so be sure to start at the beginning of the Hop so you don’t miss it!
We've got a FUN game for a special grand prize! We are playing “Scripture Scramble!” Each blog has one or two words that you can collect at each stop and put together to make a scripture verse (NIV edition). Once you have collected all the words, send the verse in the correct order, along with the scripture reference by EMAIL to our DT Coordinator, Judy Rozema, at
lidaroseroz@gmail.com. (Please don't leave the answer in your comments.) Correct entries will be put into a hat and the Grand Prize winner will receive a set of their choosing from Our Daily Bread Designs AND (this is very cool) a selection of cards made especially for this celebration by some of the Design Team members including the card in this post from me.
Entries must be received by MIDNIGHT CST this Thursday, March 19th.
Whew.... all of the details out of the way....
Here is my Scripture Scramble word:

FROM
Speaking of scriptures, today is the release of two new scripture sets: Design Team Scripture Collection 1 & 2. Each of the Design Team members chose a verse that is special to them and Kelley made it into 2 special anniversary sets that are available for purchase starting today!
The design team members are using the scriptures they personally chose on their projects today.
Here is the card I made:

The verse I chose was Psalm 138:3. This particular verse is so full of hope. It's one of my favorites. When I'm beginning to think "I can't" all I have to do is remember this scripture and it reminds me where my strength and encouragement comes from. And that I CAN!
I am most likely on my way to Charlotte, NC to pick up my younger son as you read this post. I had so much to do so my card needed to be simple...this is one of my go-to layouts. And in honor of Kelley I used pink and green!
ODBD is now carrying Memory Box 6x6 papers and they are SO lovely! I've used the "Sprout" papers here on my card. The little pink fluff is Flower Soft- ODBD now carries some of the Flower Soft colors!
Now, back to the HOP! Next you'll want to visit
Angie at Quacking Creations. Wait until you see what she has to show you!
Have a GREAT day and LOTS of fun!

Another Entry Opportunity & Another Hope Card

Today is day 2 of our week long anniversary celebration to celebrate one year of Our Daily Bread Designs! I hope you're joining us for all of the fun. There are prizes to be had, you know?
Today,
Lorelie, Holly and Nancy have the party over at their blogs! But, don't forget about that Scavenger Hunt!
I've got a second card to show you that I made with that fabulous "Hope" stamp set. This card was made after I saw who the Featured Stamper was at Splitcoast this week. Of course I had to play along when I found out it was ODBD's very own Judy! I found
this card in her SCS gallery and I CASEd it! I changed the colors, DPs and added Shimmerz to my ribbon. This time I painted over the already pink ribbon with Bubblegum Shimmerz. I LOVE that color! And I added just a touch of Angel Wings to the flowers. Here is a close up of that Shimmer!

By the way, Angel Wings did appear to be the favorite of all Shimmerz colors in my little poll yesterday! But, remember you can leave a comment again today for a second entry into the drawing for the "Hope" set!
Today, I'd like to know what type of paper cutter you use and if you're satisfied with it! I am definitely in the market for a new paper cutter myself so this will help me in my research!
Leave me a comment by clicking on the comment button below. Please leave your name because "Anonymous" won't win the prize! And if you email me, it won't get into the drawing. Sadly, emails get lost on my computer.
Have a fabulous day and enjoy the party!

But, wait! There is even more fun to celebrate the Our Daily Bread 1 year annversary! Want to win some more great prizes? Play along in the Bread Basket {aka Design Team} Scavenger Hunt today! Look at the list of items here then search the design teams' blogs high and low. When you have found all of the items listed, copy the list into an email, with where the items are located (what DT blogs), and then send it to Judy at lidaroseroz@yahoo.com.
All correct entries will be put into a “bread basket” (LOL) and THREE winners will be drawn on Friday, the 13th! It could be your lucky day! Prizes and winners will be announced at the ODBD blog on Friday!

A Second Card and Butterfly Kisses.....OH MY!

Two posts in one day? I can't believe it myself, but here I am. I couldn't wait to show you this card. I was so inspired by the color challenge at Splitcoast this week. The colors to use are Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose and Old Olive. They came across to me as "homey" and I think my card shows that inspiration. Once again, I've picked up "Lift up Our Hands" from Our Daily Bread Designs. Did you know they carry Ornare piercing templates? I've used one on my design here. I love piercing and I find that it is usually the perfect touch when you think your card is "missing something". I inked the main image in Regal Rose and added the Olive and Burgundy colors directly to the stamp using a sponge. I love the effect!
I say 2 cards in one day calls for a celebration. What do you think? Blog Candy Time... I call it Butterfly Kisses! I've got an extra "Lift up Our Hands" set just waiting to go to a new home. Want it? How about 3 pretty white crocheted flowers (like the one I've used here) to go with it? Just leave me a comment on this post and I will draw a random winner sometime on Wednesday, January 28th. In your comment, please tell me your new favorite stamping accessory! That's it!
Hope you're having a BLESSED day!

Today is the last day for a challenge! Tomorrow is my actual birthday and so I am taking the day off from blogging. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day with the high near 80! I plan on spending it outside for sure!
You can still play along.
Take tomorrow to catch up on challenges. I'll be back on Saturday announcing winners! I still have stuff to give away and I'll be drawing names from all of the entries so far. I've kept the challenge entries separate from the daily question entries and I have something special for one of the challenge entries! You may want to get your name in that hat if you haven't already!
Important:
I've been very careful to make sure every entry gets counted. If I have not commented on your gallery or blog post for one of your challenge entries than it did not get counted. (If you've emailed me the entry, I will have replied.) Please email me the link again if you did not get a response from me!
Have a VERY blessed day!
~Angel

Today's Question:
Enable me!
Let's pretend you've just been given a $100 birthday gift card to anywhere. You must spend this on yourself.
What will you buy?
What's on your wish list?

SILVER Day!

I almost feel as if I should apologize for the simplicity of this card. It was so very easy, but a necessity since I've got a headache. Katie is taking a class in Child Development and we are working on a baby book for her project. So, I've got babies on the brain. I pulled out some Paper Trey products for my card. I had started collecting their new ink and cardstock colors as I really love Paper Trey, but unfortunately couldn't afford it after the second color release. {sigh}
(Card Recipe at the end of post.)

How about some silver products to add to our Pot o' Gold??

Today is the final day for sketches. And it is for sure another easy sketch!I'm keeping it sweet and simple today! There's lots to do and only so many hours to do it in. Know what I mean?

CLEAR Day!

Don't you love technology? I'll be nowhere near my computer at all today with a day full of plans...doctor, vote, grocery shop, errands. But, yet here I am posting my project at noon on the dot!
My sweet friend Nancy sent me some adorable Pink Poison stamps and these lovely birdies were amongst them.
Aren't they cute? I've added Crystal Effects over the entire birdie image, sentiment and small snowflake. It adds so much!
(By the way, Nancy has some blog candy over on her site as well!)
I found the sketch on Splitocast. It's an oldie- #107. Did you know you can download all of the sketches from Splitcoast and do them anytime you like? Here is a link! I'm going to make it my goal to catch up on the SCS sketches next year. I just love sketches!

BROWN Day!

I'm back. I am really trying to get my samples posted by noon, but it's just not happening for some reason.
Today's card once again uses "Joy to the World".

I really like this new ODBD set, so I used shrink plastic and shrunk my image down to the right size for the sketch. My picture doesn't at all capture the "coolness" of the card. It's very 3D. The card recipe is at the end of this post.

Today's BROWN addition includes:
~3 prescored cards in shades of brown: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and I included Really Rust in this group as well.
~a baggie of Brown Buttons
~a spool of stitched brown ribbon and a yard of light brown grosgrain
~3 velvetty brown blooms
~12 Brown Cuttlebugged Quarter sheets
~6x6 Background papers in shades of brown (not pictured for some reason)
~A CD case full of leaves punched and diecut in shades of brown and tan (a few pictured)

I have a very full day tomorrow as I have a doctor's appointment with a new specialist AND of course I have to vote. So, I am off to schedule tomorrow's posts.
A small change in plans....the winner of the BONUS (ODBD set) will be drawn after my errands tomorrow not at 9:00 am as previously posted. Sorry about that.

Have a very blessed day!
~Angel

Card Recipe:

Day 15 and a BONUS Drawing!

It is Day 15!
Can you believe it?
How about another Sketch?
Who's got their game on today?
This sketch is not a typical sized card, but you can certainly change the dimensions if you like. Can I suggest you try a 3x6 card? I love that size!
{Complete contest rules are found on
this post.}
I'll be back soon with my sample!
~Angel

As you know ODBD released 3 new sets this past weekend!
What is your favorite
Our Daily Bread Designs set? Go to the site and check them ALL out and come back and tell me your favorite!
My favorite is "On Eagle's Wings". I consider Isaiah 40:31 my life's verse and was SO very excited when Kelley made it into an ODBD set.
Kelley was so very generous to allow me to give this set away to one lucky winner. I'll draw a name from the comments (telling me your favorite ODBD set) on this post tomorrow morning (11-04-08) at 9 am EST.

ETA~ Winner will be drawn after my appointments and errands tomorrow.
Some time in the afternoon.
