Sending Love

Well, I decided today to blog! It's been a while, but I do have some projects to share that I have stamped. Where have I been? Spending as much time as I can with a little blue eyed blond of course! Hoping to
get more pics of this handsome little guy on my personal blog soon!

Last Friday I had an awesome opportunity to take a Copic Certification Class in Edmond, Oklahoma. The instructor, Lori Craig, is one of my dearest friends and has been such a blessing to me over the 9+ years I have known her. It was so good to see her again.
And to top it off I was able to meet a few of some special online friends in person- Beate, Jenn and Sharon. Oh....I had a wonderful day.I wanted to send a special card to Lori to let her know how special she is to me. And I wanted to use Copics on it of course! I don't have a good selection to color with just yet. So, I used my one Wide Copic- Y26 to color the seam binding. It made the seam binding a nice crisp ribbon and I really liked the color. I also colored the background paper with the Y26 Copic to match the ribbon. It started out a moss green.
The focal image was actually an illustration from a vintage children's book. I thought she was adorable. I punched her out and adhered it to a scalloped oval punch out which was sanded. The two pearl brads are mounted on to punched out circles. The Unity postage image and "Sending Love" sentiment was the final step.
I actually mailed this card the same day I made it! Love it when that happens!
I hope to get some more pictures edited and some posts up.
Let me know if you read this...just say hi!
Blessings!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Lori!

Several years ago, a tall blonde showed up at my front door to join a group stamp meeting we were having. I liked her immediately. And it was apparent that she had both creative skills and a magnetic personality! Having both stamping and a heart for Jesus in common, we hit it off right away. I am speaking of Lori Craig who is amazing, self assured, upbeat, positive, dependable, dynamic, and I could go on and on. I wish I could see her more often, but miles have separated us for a few years now. I am looking forward to seeing her this summer. And I was only too happy to be included in making her birthday today a special and memorable one.
Happy Birthday, sweet friend!!
I don't think I got my card in the mail for you to have it on time.
But here it is!I made the paper from recycled tissue paper from my daughter-in-law's graduation gifts!
Lori is super special to me so I even decorated the inside which I rarely take the time to do.

I really hope your day is extra special, Lori!
I love and miss you!
Blessings~

Belated Birthdays

I got a few cards in the mail last week to a couple of my favorite people. Why is it my cards are always late? I need to invest in a beautiful "Belated" stamp since I always seem to be a few days behind schedule. Both cards have the same basic layout or sketch, but you can see how the blue and brown one opens from this pic. How do you like my bows? I finally mastered my Bow Easy! Spent one afternoon just making bows with it. It's really fun once you "get it". There are several places you can find it online, but I got mine from Sharon and I learned how to use it by watching this video tutorial by Jerri Kay.
And this afternoon I finally caught up on my photo editing so I'll have some blog posts this week! Yay for me!
Better make dinner for the family now!
Hope everyone is having a blessed weekend!

The Latest....

Oh WOW! It's been such a whirlwind of a few days. We arrived in Sumter, South Carolina late Friday evening and checked into temporary housing. I sent out a bulk email to let most everyone in my email address book know we made it here. We got up on Saturday and toured the area just driving around. Then we stopped by the commissary to pick up some food items. I wasn't feeling particularly well at that point and so we only bought a few items. By 6:30 I had a full case of what I THOUGHT was the flu or food poisoning. But, by 10:00 I knew I needed some medical attention. I won't get into too much detail here on my blog, but things were not normal even by "flu" standards. A nurse line advised me to call 911 or at least get a ride to the ER. If I had to do it over again, I would call 911. We did not know where exactly the hospital was AND it was storming like the dickens! Not even my GPS wanted to help. We had passed the hospital earlier in the day so we knew the general vicinity it was in so hubby headed that way and we followed the blue "H" signs there. We waited SO long to be seen. It seemed like forever. I was admitted to the hospital at 5:30 Sunday morning. A CAT scan and a Sigmoidoscopy (a smaller version of a colonoscopy) confirmed Ischemic Colitus. They even gave me a "pretty" picture of my colon. Ewwww!
So, in a hospital room is where I spent my first days in Sumter. I'm "home" now.... well back to Temporary Lodging.

My sweet 17 year old updated my blog for me. There was a little confusion since right after she posted, one of my scheduled posts popped up. {I have the "Wacky Holidays" set up ahead of time.}
I have a ton of emails to sift through, but wanted to let everyone know where I was and to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes!
This has got to be one of the hardest parts of the military life, not having friends or family around when something like this happens.
I am going to try and sift through some more emails before I call it a night. If you've emailed me and haven't heard from me, you may have gotten lost in my spam folder so email me again! (I usually clean out my spam at least twice a day so it's gotten out of control!)
Thanks so much!

Nite Nite Time

Weekend Plans

Guess what we are up to this weekend?

These 2 adorable little guys are staying with us so their mom {who works with Kevin} can get some packing done. Their names are Connor and Brody and so far they've been little angels. These 16 month old twins are taking a nap right now, so I am going to get a few things done.
Later!

Weekend in Review

I was away from the house and my computer most of the weekend. So, I have no projects to share yet today.

Our weekend however, was eventful.
On Saturday, Kevin and I took our sweet 16 year old to Atlanta and put her on a plane to Kansas for her spring break. She's staying with her best friend Caitlin.

I'm going to miss her like crazy!
It's just me and Kevin for the week in an empty nest
.

Kevin and I stopped at the JCPenney Outlet Center and the Tanger Outlet on the way home.
We shopped our little hearts out.

My godbabies needed jammies and I was on a mission. (I love having a mission.)We ended up purchasing 27 pair of pajamas. Some for now and some for later of course. But most of those were from Carters at a little over $3 a pair! At The Children's Place we found prices from 49 cents up. We didn't spend more than $4 on much of anything. Besides the twins, we bought some clothes for some of the other children in our lives too. We had a ton of fun.
At church on Sunday, my "little Punkin" Ashton

had his baby dedication and we were there.
After church, we spent the afternoon with our adopted family. I didn't take pics, but I do have a couple that their mom sent me.
Aren't they cute?

Look at this face.

She's absolutely adorable.
I nickname all the babies in my life, and I call this gorgeous baby "Precious".
I love kids!!

Have a great week.
I'll be back!
