Fact #36

Games, games, games!
I LOVE to play games.
We have a LOT of games!
We don't play games as much as I would like to.
For the longest time, my mom and dad got us a game every year for our anniversary.
Kevin is ridiculously good at word games.

The oldest game we have is a "Trivial Pursuit" which I got for my 13th birthday!
We keep our games in the hall closet here. They are squeezed in! There are over 75 games in there.
It's really too hard for me to pick a favorite.

Having said that....
Apples to Apples, Boxers or Briefs or Balderdash are a LOT of fun for a small crowd.
For just 2 people, I recommend Sorry, Trouble, Phase 10 or Battleship.
Monopoly or Scrabble are okay once in a while!

Our new daughter-in-law comes from a game-playing home as well. She's taught us quite a few fun card games.
I like to get my kids a deck of cards as a souvenir when I go somewhere. I also think they are a great stocking or Easter basket stuffer.
If you have a game closet it's a good idea to keep a plastic shoe box with pens, a tablet, a timer, extra dice and playing cards.

WOAH! That is a lot of games! You guys are so organized. What a great idea about keeping a box of extra note pads, dice, etc... I am going to do that. I have to admit, since I have met Scott, we have a good collection of games going! We keep them packed inside our coffee table. It's full so now we are sliding some underneath.. I need to find a new place! OH! I want to play Apples to Apples when I am there:)

What a great tip of what to keep with your games!
If you like Phase 10, you should try SkipBo! VERY fun! And Mexican Train (dominoes game!)
Also, I voted in your poll. I love the tips, but I'd like to see a card or sketch mixed in too :)

I miss playing games with you! I miss our "Girl nights" so much!!! They were few, but very needed!! I sure could go for one now! These days, the only games I seem to play are "Candy Land" and "Chutes and Ladders." However Randy and Riley just learned to play Uno, so at least I'm trying to carry on the game tradition with my boys. I LOVE games, too!!!

A great and fun game (although gets a bit lengthy) is a card game called five crowns. It takes a special deck that you can buy on amazon.com or in a game store. It's a blast! Let me know if you have tried it or if you decide to try it and what you think of it!

I love games too! On Thanksgiving Day every year, KMart has a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal on their board games, so my mom and I have made a tradition of going every year! We've been doing it for about 5 years now! I am nowhere near 75 games though-I have 25-30! Unfortunately my hubby isn't a board game person (is that grounds for a divorce?? Just kidding!) so I don't get to play as often as I'd like. Can't wait till my kids are older and I can groom them into being game players! :)

We absolutely love games at our house and thought that we were bad with collecting them... until I saw your games closet! LOL
What games do you recommend?
