Criss Cross Baby Card

A couple of weeks ago my best friend and I were talking and she mentioned that she planned on ordering some invitations online for a baby shower she and another girl were planning. I said, "WHAT? Your best friend makes cards and you're going to spend $45 on invitations? Are you crazy?" Obviously she didn't order those invitations. I whipped up this criss-cross card for her instead. Her version had the shower info instead of the sentiment and used Certainly Celery in the place of the Blue Bayou here. They're in the mail on their way. I LOVE the criss cross card. The ONLY thing I dislike is how much cardstock (and adhesives) it takes to make one. That is exactly why I was so happy when I stumbled onto Heather's blog- "Creative Bug". She created a criss cross card using less cardstock. Sadly, I had already made my 20 shower invitations before I found Heather's version. Oh, well.
You can find the original Criss Cross Card Tutorial written by the awesome Beate on the Splitcoast website here.
Card Recipe:
Paper: DP by MME "Front Porch" collection; Whisper White, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Textured Soft Sky (band)
Stamps: Have A Ball, All Year Cheer 2, Stipple Plaid, Looks like Spring (argyle), Warmest Regards, inside verse by PSX, Boy- Studio G
Inks- Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Certainly Celery, River Rock, Sahara Sand
Accessories- Ticket Corner Punch, Round Tab Punch, Cuttlebug Tag, Ribbon by Dashes, Dots & Checks (Mike's)

Have a wonderful Wednesday! On my way to the grocery store even though "I feel like stampin'!"

The invitations are AWESOME! They are by far the cutest baby shower invitations I have ever ever seen. I was trying to describe them to my friend having the baby. She was so touched that you went through all this hard work without even knowing her! I told her thats the kind of friend you are:)

This color combo is one of my favorites. I don't have a lot of experience with baby cards; this one is fantastic. These criss cross cards are so cool! TFS.
