Patriotic Sneak Peek

I definitely consider myself to be a patriotic girl and that's why I was SUPER excited to see the new May releases from Our Daily Bread Designs!
I stamped the day away yesterday and have lots of cards to show for it. But, one at a time is really the way to go I guess. My first card actually combines a sentiment from one set and the eagle image from another. I guess you're getting a double sneak peek today!

Want more eagle inspiration? Kim, Lorelie and Judy have some gorgeous creations posted on their blogs this week! Be sure to check out the rest of the design team member's blogs and galleries for more awesome sneak peeks! You'll find their links on my sidebar.
Have a VERY Blessed day! And thanks for stopping by!

Happy, Happy Birthday

I checked in at Splitcoast yesterday for the sketch and decided to use it to make this birthday card for my daughter's best friend back in Kansas. I can't wait to see her when I go back there in a couple of weeks. It's hard to believe she's 18 now too!

I've been having lots of fun with my Impressabilities plates! It's hard to see in this photo, but all of the panels are embossed with the Paisley Impressabilties plate as well as the main panel which is also sanded so the white core comes through. I LOVE that effect.
I actually pulled out a piece of Mauve Mist for this card. It's an older retired Stampin Up color that I wasn't sad to see go. But, I still have 2 packages of the stuff! I've really got to get a good purge done here soon!! The Mauve Mist matched the Memory Box "Sprout" papers perfectly though and so did the Wild Wasabi. I really like the combo actually!
What do YOU think?
Have a blessed day!

Bittersweet Flowers

Like my post title? I combined the name of the designer paper and the Impressabilities template I used on this card~It's going to be so hard not to hoard this Basic Grey "Bittersweet" DP.
It's SO beautiful.
What do you think of the floral element? I almost titled this post "No, She Didn't!" Because YES, I did. I cut up one of my Flowers Impressabilities templates and used it as an element on this card. My amazing friend Lori gave me the idea.
I am always so inspired by the flourishes my sweet friend Amy uses on her designs, but can never find the dies to make them myself. At less than $7.00 these Impressabilities could certainly be considered as a package of embellishments. Right?
That's all for me today. I've got lots to do to keep me busy!
Thanks for checking in!

Children of God

Good afternoon! Boy, a day can fly by, can't it?
I've got a card to share today using the Our Daily Bread Designs set called "Children of God". This one came together pretty quickly. I was tempted to add more and more, but decided I really liked it at this point and so I stopped.

No ribbon, no brads or buttons, and no flowers. This one will actually mail at only 42 cents.... until May 11 anyway!
The embossed background is actually an "Impressabilities" plate- Paisley. I ran a piece of SU "To the Nines" designer paper through my Wizard with it and then sanded just a bit. The pattern just popped! What do you think? Does it need more or do you like it just the way it ended up?
I hope you're having a great day. Thanks for stopping by!
You bless me!

Love One Another

I had a great time in Virginia on spring break. It was so good to see my best friend Peggy and her family. My godchildren, Zach (almost 10) and Brandon and Faith (almost 2) have grown so much in the last year. It was so fun to spend Easter with the kids.
While we were there we went to the Ikea store in Woodbridge, Virginia. A very cool store. And on the way home Katie and I stopped at the Archiver's in Raleigh. I loved their $1.99 section! I hope to show you some of those items in the near future.
I finally found some time to stamp yesterday afternoon. This lovely ODBD set "Love One Another" was calling my name.

I paired it with my new Basic Grey "Porcelain" papers and some vintage lace I found at a yard sale recently. After watercoloring and cutting out this fabulous intertwined heart image I added Crystal Effects for glossy dimension.
Check out the rest of this set. Don't you LOVE this font?

That's all for me today.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
See you on Monday!

Happy 18th Birthday to my BABY!

Can you believe it? Eighteen years ago today, my sweet little blue-eyed baby girl was born. Truth be told, I am having a very hard time accepting the fact that she's all grown up.
{Katie on Easter - 4.12.09}
We're in Virginia visiting my best friend, Peggy and her family.
Before our trip I made sure to make some time to stamp Katie's birthday card. I don't really know all the specs, so I'll have to leave the recipe later. Back to enjoying our visit!

April Divine Design

As soon as I saw this 1 Corinthians 13 passage that Our Daily Bread Designs released this month, I knew that it would have to be a page in my Scripture Treasures book.

I've been adding pages to this book since January of last year when my sweet friend, Lori Craig launched
Divine Design.
The purpose of Divine Design is simple. Choose a scripture that has touched you personally or a passage you have determined to commit to memory and make a project with it. You'll find even more info at the Splitcoast forum here.
My friends Lori, Taylor, and Jami will also be posting scripture projects today. Nancy will be posting hers a little later. I hope you will consider joining us. If you post on Splitcoast, use the keyword BVC09 so we can find your project and comment! If you have a blog and want to spread the word about Divine Design, remember you can also add the Divine Design button to your sidebar!
I've got a busy couple of days and then I'm off to Virginia. I may be AWOL for a while. Thank you for visiting me!

Baby Trio

I've been trying to stamp. But, I think my mojo went on vacation before me!
I did get this trio of baby cards made.

My goal was Clean and Simple (CAS). Have you seen the cards at Splitcoast with this keyword? It's my favorite kind of stamping!
A friend recently asked me to make some baby cards for her. And her timing could not have been more perfect with the Our Daily Bread Designs April release of "Children of God". I love the sentiments included in this set.

On this baby boy card, I used a new Spellbinder Nestabilities set called "Curved Rectangles". Pearls and piercing and this one was pretty much done.

I used oval punches for the baby girl card. Lots of pink and flowers.. and of course more piercing.

I thought I'd try my hand at a punched baby for the neutral gender card. An eyelet represents the pacifier. I couldn't figure out anything else for that, so it had to work.
I've got a really busy week, trying to get ready for Spring Break Vacation! And Katie's getting her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday.
But I'll be back on Thursday for sure for Divine Design!
Have a Blessed Week!

Children of God

Check out this new set called "Children of God" from Our Daily Bread Designs. I love the scriptures and sentiments included in this set. The first card I made was one that I think would be perfect as a thank you for a Sunday School teacher! Too bad I don't have little ones in Sunday School these days. I may give this to my best friend to give to the nursery workers who care for her twins! That's all from me today. I hope you've had a great week so far.
Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings~

Oh....April Fools!
Seriously, ODBD is premiering 3 new sets and 1 single stamp today.
And I've made a card to show you today using one of the new sets. The set I used is simply named "Love" and you'll notice the sentiments go quite nicely with "Love One Another." The single stamp is the LOVE passage from I Corinthians 13. I am SO excited this is now in stamp form and in my collection!!!
I want to spend some more time stamping today, so I'll leave you with the recipe and be on my way!
