Today, Lorelie, Holly and Nancy have the party over at their blogs! But, don't forget about that Scavenger Hunt!
I've got a second card to show you that I made with that fabulous "Hope" stamp set. This card was made after I saw who the Featured Stamper was at Splitcoast this week. Of course I had to play along when I found out it was ODBD's very own Judy! I found this card in her SCS gallery and I CASEd it! I changed the colors, DPs and added Shimmerz to my ribbon. This time I painted over the already pink ribbon with Bubblegum Shimmerz. I LOVE that color! And I added just a touch of Angel Wings to the flowers. Here is a close up of that Shimmer!
By the way, Angel Wings did appear to be the favorite of all Shimmerz colors in my little poll yesterday! But, remember you can leave a comment again today for a second entry into the drawing for the "Hope" set!
Today, I'd like to know what type of paper cutter you use and if you're satisfied with it! I am definitely in the market for a new paper cutter myself so this will help me in my research!
Leave me a comment by clicking on the comment button below. Please leave your name because "Anonymous" won't win the prize! And if you email me, it won't get into the drawing. Sadly, emails get lost on my computer.
Have a fabulous day and enjoy the party!
~Angel

What a lovely stamp set. If I don't win I just might have to order it. My church group has a craft club and we minister to women who can't afford mammograms. We host a scrap weekend two times a year and the proceeds go to the free mammograms. This would be a perfect set to use for lots of things we do.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite paper cutter at this time ismy making memories cutter it is self sharpening folds in half for easy storing. I might get something else later but for now it is my favorite.

Regarding the cutte, I use a GBC guillotine purchased at Office Depot. It gives me perfectly straight cuts, and is great for my 12x12 sheets.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have another vote for the Angel Wings shimmersz.
Marcia Luisa
I use my Fiskars rotary cutter the most because of its portability. I would like to get a guillotine at some point.
ReplyDeleteHello, Thanks for the chance...my favorite paper cutter is a Making Memories one that has a self sharpening blade... Kathy Hering
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the opportunity to win some "candy"! The cutter I use is the purple Fiskars with triple track blades/scorer. This portable cutter cuts the straightest I've ever had a cutter do and it it has a swing bar ruler that measures all the way to 16 inches. The markings on the base help to cut any size card/paper quickly and easily.
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty, Angel! I wish I had a good recommendation on paper cutters, but I'm still searching myself!
ReplyDeleteI use the old inexpensive Fiskars. I like it but am hoping to get a Stampin up table top cutter to be able to do multiple cuts at once.
ReplyDeleteI use the fiskars cutter and also the table topper one from stampinup. Love them both
ReplyDeleteEilee(emcclean@telus.net)
I use a Fiskars rotary cutter ~ and have been happy with it. It will be interesting to see what everyone's favorites are.
ReplyDeleteI have the fiskers paper cutter for classes but I personally use just a standard teacher type paper cutter from an office supply store.
ReplyDeleteI love the shimmerz, they just add a touch of elegance to things.
Love how you addedd the Shimmerz to the ribbon!!
ReplyDeleteI use the X-Acto guillotine cutter. I'm kindda happy with it. It's great for full sheets, except the lower right hand "foot" gets in the way, so I sometimes get a bend in my paper. Works for my purposes, which is usually cards made on 8 1/2 x 11...but for your fabulous art, you may want something else. ;-)
Love this shimmer on the card - Wow -
ReplyDeleteI have a fisker guilutine cutter & love it I also have a rotary cutter from fisker... I have always stuck with them.

Angel, this is a great idea for comments. I would love to know what people use too, as my Fiskars doesn't do straight cuts and the blades are always dull (I have like the $20 one, I guess, and the little one too).
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post as well, and I am honored by your GORGEOUS case!! Thank you so much. Of course, I love it in PINK!! And it fits! I think I made that one in Sally's favorite colors -- but the pink is certainly perfect! Thank you again for such a sweet case and your awesome posts! YOU ROCK!
I use a Cricut papercutter. It is ok for now, but looking to upgrade soon. The blade seems to wear out really quick (over-used?).
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Hope set! Thanks for the op!
Lori
Angel, this is awesome! I love that Bubble Gum Shimmerz! It is so pretty!! I use the heavy duty Karl cutter. It is awesome. I use it everyday, all day long!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Wonderful Card of Hope!
ReplyDeleteSmiles & Cheers,
Dorothy
Beautiful card and just love seeing the different ways to use it. I use Fiskars cutter. Thanks so much for another chance. Lovin the celebration party.
ReplyDeleteI use the Fiskars cutter but also use a rotary cutter. I bought a bigger mat that has lines that is perfect for cutting paper.
ReplyDeleteI use the one that came with my cricut....I have also used a cutterpede.....I have yet to find one that I am happy with....When you find one please tell me about it! Thanks
ReplyDeleteAngel my local card shop made a card that looked very similar to this one - it's a great message.
ReplyDeleteAs for my cutter - I use the Carl Professional Rotary Paper Trimmer and I found it at Staples for about $40. I have tried so many and I couldn't get a straight cut -even from the Fiskars. The only con to this is one is if you need to cut an item less than 1 3/4 inches it's harder to keep it in place.
Have a wonderful day!
Wonderful card...for my major cutting (heavy duty) I use a "Making Memories" self-sharpening cutter; to do my photos, I use the "Tonic"; for fancy edging I use "Cutterpede"; and finally, I have a Fiskars that I carry with me (the first one I purchased).

Your Hope card is very beautiful, Angel!! I love how you've added the Shimmerz!!
ReplyDeleteI use a Fiskars cutter. It is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteLove the shimmers on your card. I just got my first Shimmers now it's time to go use it. :0)

~*A Beautiful Card! I love the photo corner with the little pearl. Very pretty!~
ReplyDeleteI use Creative Memories 12"Straight Trimmer for cutting. I love that I am able to get an accurate cut and it has great markings for cutting triangles. I don't do mass cuttings though, so you may need more of a guillotine-type cutter.
i forgot to mention I think my favorite Shimmers is Candle light.
ReplyDeleteYvonne
I have a Fiskar cutter and I like it. Have a smaller one of a different brand but don't like it.
ReplyDeleteRight now I use the purple Fiskars paper cutter. I like it because it doesn't take up too much space and I have a small crafting area.
ReplyDeleteI also love the Angel Wings Shimmerz. It is so beautiful on your gorgeous card.
I love the shimmery card. I have never used the stuff myself. My cutter is just the basic Fiskers one which is o.k. for me but seems like my little blade gets dull fast and leaves raggedy edges. Maybe it is just me or the papers I use. Whatever! I enjoyed visiting your blog which is new to me. Thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful card! I own a Carl cutter but I normally use a Martha Stewart self-healing pad, ruler & a Fiskars finger cutter/exacto blade.
ReplyDeleteHi Angel,
ReplyDeleteI use the Carl professional rotary paper trimmer. I like it because it cuts nice and straight. Thanks for the chance. Hugs, Nellie Schuurman
Love the card and all it's shimmer! My favorite paper trimmer is actually an oldie...I have NO clue where I got it from! But it's made by Xacto (it's a mini-chomper type cutter) you know the kind that can cut your finger off?! It's only 6" wide so it's perfect for my stamping desk. However, I do have one of the SU Fiscars cutting/scoring trimmer for anything that needs to be scored or cut larger than 6".

What a beautiful stamp set! I meant to tell you that I enjoyed your tutorial on the Shimmerz but I neglected to include it in my comment there. As for my paper cutter, I use the Making Memories one and I am pretty happy with it as long as I keep the track clean. It's pretty precise but requires regular cleaning out (i.e. dismantling which can be a pain when you first try to figure it out but once you do, it's a cinch). Plus, you can use a coupon on it! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Angel--I use a very old Fiskars paper trimmer. It is so well loved that a lot of the numbers have worn off!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI currently use a Fiskars personal paper trimmer with a fold-out ruler for paper up to 12x12. It does an adequate job of trimming paper, but it doesn't always cut a straight line. I think for Christmas this year a new trimmer will be on my wish list. ;o)
After a lot of agonizing, I narrowed it down to the Carl Heavy Duty or the Making Memories rotary cutters. I bought the MM cutter because I could get it for 40% off from Joann's or Hobby Lobby, which brought it down to $29. So far I am THRILLED with it, although I would be hesitant to cut anything heavier than lightweight chipboard.
ReplyDeleteHello, I have this stamp set and I love it. I will have to buy some bubblegum shimmerz, very pretty! thank you for sharing, Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI love your card. I have this stamp set and love it! I will have to get some bubblegum shimmerz, very pretty. Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI use the Fiskars. I have a small one and larger one (that you sent me) I like the bigger one bette. Love the card.
ReplyDeleteChrystal
Beautiful Job on this card Angel!!! I love your colors and the shimmerz!!
ReplyDelete~hugs,
Chris
Ahhhh.. the discussion of Cutters rears it's ugly head! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a Fiskers, it's orange, and it works when it wants to! Still looking for "the" cutter!
Gorgeous card Angel!! Love all the different dots and pearls!!
ReplyDeleteI use my scor-pal, scor-mat, a clear architecural triangle (for straight cuts), and a plain ol' craft (exacto) knife. The blades on exacto knives last so long, and so cheap to replace. And my scor-pal is always on my table anyways. Plus, I also use the mat and knife for doing small cut-outs that I can't do with scissors.
I have a fiskars cutter that is black and orange but I also have a ionic studio guillotine type cutter that I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love this set. I am a breast cancer survivor and this is one of the first sets I purchased.
ReplyDeleteI use a Fiskars cutter and a Creative Memories cutter. If you find a really great cutter, please let us all know, as I am still looking.
Angel, I've got a 12" Tonic Guillotine cutter and it works great!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. As for cutters, I have 3. I use my Purple Cow dual rotary/guillatine and my 8 year old fiskars 12 slide cutter are my faves. Thanks for a chance to win.

I have this stamp set and really love it! Haven't bought any shimmerz yet. I can't wait to get some, it is really pretty. Thanks for the chance to win some! Jeanne
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love my Creative Memories papercutter...I go through the blades pretty fast using it everyday though!
Blessings, Maria
I just splurged on the Making Memories cutter with self-sharpening blade. The cutter folds out to support 12 X 12 & has a magnetic ruler. Best purchase I ever made!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the grey fiskars with the orange cutting blades. I would not recommend it though. I am in the market for a new one myself.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Love the card. I have a Fiskars that is about 7 years old. I also am on the hunt for a new cutter. To bad there isn't somewhere where you could do sample cuts to find out the one that works best for you.
ReplyDeleteNice set! I love my good old fiskars for paper cutter!!TFS...Gina
ReplyDeleteWell... presently I have 2 paper cutters: a Fiskars I have had for several years and one my husband bought for me when he saw it on TV. The Fiskars doesn't cut straight and lately the blades loose their sharpness way too fast. The TV cutter is lighted under the cutting area and has 11 blades that are easily exchanged to create a variety of fancier cut edges. It is OK, but is is bigger and heavier.
ReplyDeleteSo I am VERY glad you have asked this question and will read what others have, and what they like and dislike. I could be convinced fairly easily to replace my Fiskars!
Love your card, Angel and the shimmerz you have used on it.. I use the Fiskars cutter, I have the big one and the small one so use them both but need to replace the blades quite often especially when you use them alot. Would like a different one too. Phyllis M.
ReplyDeleteThis card is GORGEOUS! My paper cutter is a big table-top one I bought at Staples. I think the name is Canson. I like it a lot. I also use a tiny one right at my desk for small peices, and it's a Creative Memories one.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Oh Angel, what a beautiful card! The close-up showing the Shimmerz is totally gorgeous!!!!! I must branch out and add to my collection (I have one jar! lol!)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day, sweetie!
WOW!!!! Beautiful card, Angel!!! Love the dimension and details. There is bubblegum shimmerz? How did I miss that!?!? Gorgeous card!!!!
