Yet, Another Sneak Peek

My card today uses the new Our Daily Bread Designs set called "Keep My Lamp Burning". This set was designed by the one and only Dina Kowal. It features this artsy lighthouse image and 4 interchangeable verses to go in the space beside the lighthouse. The one I chose to use today was Psalm 46:1, but you can change that out for one of the other 3 OR leave the area "blank". Cool, huh?

You can see more ideas for this set by going to the other design team members blogs listed on my sidebar OR by visiting the ODBD gallery!
I hate to post and run, but I have a few errands to run!
I'll be back in a bit with my card recipe!
Blessings~
Angel

Another Sneak Peek AND Yes, a Winner, Finally...

I'm sorry for the delay in posting my blog candy winner! Yesterday just wasn't a good day for me. But, today is MUCH better!
Why? Well, I've had time to stamp today! That means another sneak peek at a new Our Daily Bread set which will be available for purchase this Sunday!
I picked up this pretty inexpensive Eggshell-white frame last weekend at TJ Maxx.

I had the new "May God Hold You" set in mind. I stamped and embossed one of the 2 poems included in the set and used a scalloped Nestability square to cut it out. I had lots of little embellishments I wanted to use, but in the end nothing would fit under the glass. {sigh} I hope the recipient of this gift will like it just the same.
There is still some stamping time left for me today, so I leave you with the Butterfly Kisses winner!
Random.Org picked my winner.
And the set goes to:
Cindi who said...
Wow gorgeous card. I am loving the new crocheted flowers and those piercing templates. They are both at the top of my wish list.
Cindi
Cindi, you'll find my email address on my sidebar...please email me your mailing address by Monday!
I hope to be back tomorrow with one more sneak peek at another new Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set! I think you'll like this one too!
Blessings~
Angel

Sneak Peek- I Am the Way...

I really can't believe that January is nearly over!
Although I am ready for spring I wish time wouldn't pass so quickly.
But, because it's almost February, I've got new Our Daily Bread Designs sets to play with and sneak peeks for you this week!
My first sneak peek comes from the new Easter set called I am the Way...

This card is small at 4 1/4" square, but it is a nice size since it will still fit into a standard sized envelope for mailing. Not enough daylight today for a great photo. I wish you could see the shimmer as I used Sky Blue and Candle Light Shimmerz on the pretty lily I've cut out and popped up with dimensionals here..one of 2 lily images in this new set along with 2 scriptures and 3 sentiments. The ODBD sets always have the perfect amount of sentiments in my opinion!
There is still time this week to get your name in the drawing for the ODBD set- Lift Up Our Hands! See this post and leave your comment there!
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a blessed week!
~Angel

Card Recipe:
Stamps~
"I am the Way" ODBD,
Ink~ Palette Black, Ink pad lids used with blender pen- River Rock, Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, More Mustard

Sneak Peek Coming Today!

I've been stamping! I will be posting a sneak peek at a new ODBD set this afternoon. I'm on my way to get a new military ID as mine expires this week. That should give my Shimmerz a chance to dry!
Be back soon!

A Second Card and Butterfly Kisses.....OH MY!

Two posts in one day? I can't believe it myself, but here I am. I couldn't wait to show you this card. I was so inspired by the color challenge at Splitcoast this week. The colors to use are Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose and Old Olive. They came across to me as "homey" and I think my card shows that inspiration. Once again, I've picked up "Lift up Our Hands" from Our Daily Bread Designs. Did you know they carry Ornare piercing templates? I've used one on my design here. I love piercing and I find that it is usually the perfect touch when you think your card is "missing something". I inked the main image in Regal Rose and added the Olive and Burgundy colors directly to the stamp using a sponge. I love the effect!
I say 2 cards in one day calls for a celebration. What do you think? Blog Candy Time... I call it Butterfly Kisses! I've got an extra "Lift up Our Hands" set just waiting to go to a new home. Want it? How about 3 pretty white crocheted flowers (like the one I've used here) to go with it? Just leave me a comment on this post and I will draw a random winner sometime on Wednesday, January 28th. In your comment, please tell me your new favorite stamping accessory! That's it!
Hope you're having a BLESSED day!

Featuring.... My Friend!

Have you heard of the "Featured Stamper Challenge" at Splitcoast? Every Sunday a stamper is selected and we are all given permission to browse their gallery and select a card to CASE (if I am correct that means Copy And Steal Everything in stamper terminology). I don't believe I have ever participated in this particular challenge at Splitcoast. Mainly because it falls on a Sunday and I am not usually stamping on a Sunday. BUT, this week's featured stamper happens to be a good friend of mine. I happen to know (and adore) her personally! I had to play along. I chose this card in Lori Craig's (stamp_momma) gallery! The challenge rules ask you to change at least 2 things on the card. I used Lori's layout, but went with a different cross set and scripture. The chocolate cardstock color and these SU "Outlaw" papers just reminded me of Lori. She's married to a cowboy, you know!
The cross from one of the new January ODBD releases fit this sketch perfectly. The set is called "He is Risen" and you'll want it for sure!
I'm keeping it short and sweet as I have more stamping to do. Who knows? I may be back with more to show you today!
Have a blessed day!

ODBD Sketch

Remember my last post? I introduced to you ODBD's first ever Design Team Challenge! It really was my intention to show you my card for the challenge yesterday, but I never got it finished. Instead I spent most of the day putting away my Christmas decorations. Oh, I am SO glad that is done!
I've got to pick up Katie from school early today so I am going to try to be brief.

My card uses the one of 2 new releases from ODBD- "Lift up Your Hands". There is a lot of detail on this card that the picture just doesn't show so I'll give you a little bit of info. The main image panel is embossed with Artichoke ink on River Rock cardstock. But, I cut out the hands which were stamped in Artichoke on a separate vanilla piece of cardstock. I added a couple of layers of Glassy Glaze Enamel embossing powder to the hands and used several pop-dots under the image so it pops out.

The diamond layer has some paper-piercing on it using an Ornare template (you can find these at ODBD here.)
The sentiment is one line of a stamp from the "Lift Up Your Hands" set. You'll notice all 3 of the lines to this stamp can be used together OR separately. How cool is that? The flower is so pretty.

I've painted some Angel Wings Shimmerz on to the Prima. A word of warning- Make sure your lid is on tight after using your Shimmerz. Although your work surface looks so pretty after spilling an entire bottle onto it, when it's gone, it's gone! Yes, I spilled my Angel Wings Shimmerz so I will be buying another bottle very soon. I LOVE this stuff!
Remember, you are invited to join the design team and upload your own creation based on this sketch and using ODBD stamps!

You have until midnight (EST) on January 23 to post your card and let Kelley know by commenting on this post at the ODBD blog. You could win a bottle of Shimmerz just for playing! When posting on SCS please use keywords ODBDSC01 and ODBD so we can find your cards there.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have done with this fabulous sketch!

Divine Design- January 2009

It was a little over a year ago that my dear friend Lori Craig asked me if I would be interested in participating in a monthly scripture design challenge. Along with Lori and 3 other sweet gals, I posted one project a month in 2008- each made with a Bible verse that touched my heart. It is with great excitement that I am continuing the Divine Design project this year. In fact, Lori has asked Nancy Morgan and myself to co-host the endeavor for 2009 and we were only too happy to oblige!
This year's "Scripture Chicks" have changed just a bit.

Lori Craig of Make a Difference,

Nancy Morgan of Paper Smiles,

Taylor VanBruggen of Taylored Expressions

and myself have stayed on.
We also welcome

who will post monthly with us.
Please visit them today to see their works of heart! (Taylor will be posting hers tomorrow.)
How about you?
We would love to have you join in. The only criteria is you make a project that features a scripture. Your creation can be as simple as a bookmark or as complex as you want it to be! Should you wish to post your work on Splitcoast, please use keyword BVC09 so it can be grouped with other Divine Design projects. See the Divine Design thread on SCS here.
I have decided to continue my focus to make a 6x6 scrapbook page each month. "I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Galatians 2:20

What a great start this new Our Daily Bread Designs scripture gave me! And I *heart* the Stampin Up Top Note die! I love everything I've ever seen made with it. Not having a lot of time to make something, I instantly reached for this die! It's SO cool!
Today is my son's last day here with us for his Christmas break, so I am off to spend the day with him. I'll be sure to check out all of your lovely creations this weekend, so leave me a comment if you're playing along!
Have a Blessed Day!
~Angel
