I Do Love Butterflies!

On a recent shopping trip to Michael's I found a clearance section of K & Co papers and embellishments. It was SO hard to not buy one of everything. But I was pretty good. I bought just a few things. Most of which was papers. I love K & Company papers. These cards started with one of the mats from the "Wild Raspberry" die-cut mat pad. It's already die-cut with the decorative edge... similar to the Top Note die. I cut it in half to make the 2 cards.
For one of the cards, I used the Stix2 double sided adhesive sheets I've been having so much fun with. I punched the butterflies from the sheets and added Stix2 blue glitter.

For the second card, I punched the butterflies out of Chocolate paper that I had run through my Cuttlebug with the Floral Fantasy folder. I really like them both... can't even pick a favorite.
That's all from me... keeping it short and sweet so I can stamp!
Blessings!

Friends & Flowers

It's Monday and I hope you're having a start to a FABULOUS week!
I've got several projects to share with you this week and time scheduled for more stamping if my MoJo will only find it's way back to my stamp room! (And stay there...LOL)
As many of you know, I belong to a local group called TOPS. These ladies are some of the sweetest women I've ever met. It brings me joy to do little things for them. So, when my aunt gave these little baby food containers to me recently, I knew I had to figure out something to put inside to give my TOPS friends. Candy was my first thought, but since the group is about losing weight, that was not really the best option.
I found some great smelling chunky potpourri at Walmart for only $1 a bag. It's Sweet Pea & Jasmine scented. Mmmmm.

So, I stuffed each container as full as I could with the potpourri and decorated them with various papers, ribbons, punches, flowers and brads. The sentiment "Friends are the Flowers of Life" was perfect for the top.
These 2 containers use those cool Stix2 double sided adhesive sheets and glitters along with my Martha Stewart leaves punch.

Here is a photo showing the potpourri. I think it was just enough to fill a small dish to scent up their bathrooms.
They were thrilled. I'm on the lookout for more little ideas for these gals. They're so sweet.
Anyone have any ideas for me?
That's all for me for now. I'll see you back here tomorrow!
Blessings!

Glittery Birthday

Don't you love a little sparkle every now and then? My best friend is a girly girl and I knew she'd love a little glitz. So I decided to use a sheet of Stix2 double sided adhesive in my die cut machine with Sizzix "Flower Layers #3". Then I added some micro beads and glitter (Stix2) and layered them up. I think she liked it.The Paper Trey Inc sentiment was a little too long for my Word Window punch so I used a trick I saw online to make it bigger. Here is the link to the tutorial. The layout is an old standby. Gotta love those!

.We're having a relaxing weekend as hubby finishes up the last of his leave. I hope you're having lots of sunshine wherever you are too!

Fresh Greens

I love my Fresh Greens Kaleidacolor pad. You know, I've had that thing for years, never reinked it and it still gives lots of color! What I don't love is needing a sympathy card. There's been too much of that recently.
Hubby needed one for a co-worker and so I made this one a little oversized so there would be room for his group to sign it.
I stamped this fabulous Hero Arts "Three Ferns" image in Fresh Greens ink. Next I outlined the largest fern in Stix2 PVA glue, waited for the glue to go clear and rubbed on some Emerald Green Shiny Transfer Foil (also by Stix2).
Here's a close-up.

I'm going to try and get more blogging done.
Cuz most of my friends live in my computer. And I miss you!
Blessings~

Divine Design- July

Due to demanding schedules, the Scripture Chicks are a little late this month. So much so, we decided to just postpone the Bible Verse Challenge exactly one week. I hope you'll consider joining me and scripture chicks Lori Craig, Jami Bova, Nancy Morgan and Taylor VanBruggen. It's very straightforward and the "rules" are few. Just choose a scripture that has impacted you...perhaps one you wish to memorize... and make a project with it. My projects are 6x6 pages which have already filled one little album. Luckily it's a set of 3. I love looking through the album and meditating on these verses.

I had planned on using a completely different Bible passage, but when I ran across this verse in my reading, it just jumped out at me. "Keep on Praying!" Wow! Translated, I think that means "Don't ever stop! Keep talking to God." I have to admit, my prayer time can too often be rushed and even sometimes non-existent. This scripture is a powerful reminder and something God is definitely trying to remind me of. Hmmm....if memory serves me right, my last month's Divine Design scripture was pertaining to prayer. NOT a coincidence, I am sure.
Here is a close-up of the layered flower.
On a personal note, blogging has been taking a back seat to "life" these days, but I do have a few projects to show you. I'll be blogging again VERY soon!
Have a blessed day, friends!
