January ODBD Releases

Happy New Year!
January 1st brings not only a new year, but also new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs! And you are going to love these new sets. I know I say that every month. I really mean it too. Kelley has a fabulous artist that really brings scriptures to life. AND one of our design team members, Dina Kowal also brings us some wonderful graphic designs in rubber through ODBD!
Here are the 2 new sets-
"He is Risen"- a new Easter favorite and "Lift up Our Hands" with unlimited possibilities.

I've got one card from each set to show you today. I found them both very easy to work with.
The first card uses "He is Risen".

I do love this cross made of 2 nails bound together. I chose the John 3:16 verse and stamped and embossed directly over the top of the cross of nails in a monochromatic design. The sketch is Splitcoast Sketch #208.
I used the Versamark with Classic ink embossing to emboss my verse in Chocolate ink. Vanilla and Chocolate are so pretty together don't you think? And the new Taffeta ribbon from SU is just lovely!
My other card I made uses the image from Lift up Our Hands along with a sentiment from "Flourished Christian Symbols". Another Splitcoast Sketch.... SC209 here.

I just got this new paper from Hobby Lobby. It's from My Mind's Eye and their "Out and About" collection. I really like it! I paired it with the gorgeous retired Soft Sky, Vanilla and Ruby Red.
That's all from me today. Kevin is home and we're going to watch some football and play some games. I've still got some time with my kids and then I'll be back tom posting on a more regular basis. Until then I'll be here as time allows!
Have a great and relaxing day!

Party Dill Dip

Happy Christmas Eve!
By request I am posting the recipe for the Party Dill Dip.
I really can't vouch for the taste since I haven't actually tried it, but looking at the ingredients listed, I assume it will be good. Fresh spices is always key to good dips!
It does look pretty all packaged up!

PARTY DILL DIP
1/2 C dill weed
1/2 C dried, minced onion
1/2 C dried parsley
1/4 tsp celery seed
1 T paprika
1 T garlic powder
1 T dried thyme
2 tsp celery salt
Combine ingredients; store in an airtight container or divide into baggies.
Attach instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Whisk 3 tablespoons of mix with one cup of mayo and one cup of sour cream. Refrigerate at least one to 2 hours before serving. Delicious in a bread bowl served with vegetables and/or bread pieces.

See ya later!

Another Small Gift Idea....

I've really been absent, haven't I? Getting ready for Christmas has taken most of my time. We picked up our younger son from the airport on Saturday. (My family blog has more updates on that.) It's so good to see him. We haven't seen him in almost a year! Jake and Megan arrive on Sunday. I'll be even more absent the next couple of weeks I am afraid. Family time is a premium, you know?
Before Brian arrived I put together some tea and coffee mixes, made some cookies and candy and snack mixes and other little goodies. I have to find some boxes and get these in the mail so I can show you more of them. Here is a peek at one of the dips I packaged up.

A quick and easy topper was made using my new Top Note die from Stampin' Up. I absolutely "LOVE" this die. I've used it on SO many projects and I've only just received it. I printed the label on my computer. the directions are on the opposite side of the topper. There are lots of mix ideas on the internet. This one made 5 little baggies of Party Dill Dip- an easy mix of spices which you add to one cup or sour cream and one cup of mayo. If you're interested in this particular recipe, just let me know!
I'll be back shortly after Christmas with a peek at a new ODBD set!
Have a fabulous Christmas, friends!

Christmas Gift

When we lived in Wichita I would meet a friend for prayer on a regular basis. She and I would usually have a scone and some Chai tea. As soon as I saw this Scone Mix I knew I had to package it up as a gift for her. The homemade mix is inside the tin and the printed directions are inside the tag/gift card. It was an easy gift, but I think she'll like it!
Here are the mix ingredients:
1 & 3/4
C all-purpose flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 C quick cooking oats, uncooked
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1/3 c mini semi-sweet choc chips or 1/2 C sweetened, dried cranberries (I included a small ziplock of each so she can have her choice)
Combine first 3 ingredients together in large mixing bowl; stir in remaining ingredients. mix well. Attach instructions.
Instructions inside tag read:
Ingredients Needed:
Scone Mix, Choc Chips OR Cranberries (included),
1/2 Cup Softened Butter,
1/4 Cup Milk and 1 egg
Directions:
Place scone mixture in a large mixing bowl; cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and egg; add to crumb mixture just until moistened; fold in either chips or cranberries gently.
knead gently on a lightly floured surface 8-10 times; pat dough into an 8-inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges; place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until golden, about 10-12 minutes. Serve warm. Makes 8.

Blessings~

Bayou Church

Another card with the Our Daily Bread church. This time I cut it out with my Nestability Circle and just barely colored it with Soft Sky and liberally adding Stickles for the snowy areas. It really sparkles in real life. Wish I knew how to capture that with my camera! The design is fairly simple so I can mass produce!
I realized yesterday that I have MUCH to do before Christmas,
(cleaning, making presents, wrapping ALL of my presents, making and sending 100+ cards, a couple of Christmas parties and some major online shopping!).
SO I may be absent from the computer for a while til I get things under control on the homefront. I'll be back soon!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings~
Angel

December Divine Design

Is it really December and time for the final Divine Design of the year? Yes, but fret not, cuz an idea this fabulous should continue through another year. Don't you think? I love the way my book is getting full of wonderful scriptures. And I love the way my scripture stamp collection is growing with the ODBD stamp sets I've been blessed to own. This verse comes from "Lord is my Shepherd". I've not used the focal image on my page here, only one of the FIVE verses included. And I've used an Ornare Piercing Template (Kelley carries these at the ODBD store) allowing my design to have character without a lot of layers.
You can catch up with the rest of the Scripture Chicks by clicking on their blog names below:
Lori Craig ~ Make A Difference
Nancy Morgan ~ Paper Smiles
Jami Sibley ~ More is More
Taylor Van Bruggen ~ Taylored Expressions
December is a busy month, so play along with us if you have time! All the details can be found HERE.
God bless!

Christmas Church

I can't believe it has been almost a week since my last post! I'll try not to let that happen again! I did not realize getting vaccinated for the flu would make you sick. Katie and I both got ill over the Thanksgiving weekend. I still sound pretty squeaky, but I think I am on the mend.

I pulled out my H2O pen and reinkers for this "Worship the Lord" card.. one of 2 new sets available from Our Daily Bread Designs. Now, please be easy on me. I am not a "colorer" at all. I so envy those artistic types who can do amazing things with their Copic markers or watercolor pencils. But, I have to face facts. It's just not my forte!
I do like the way this looks a lot better in real life. You're just gonna have to trust me though as it seems photography is a learned skill as well. hehehe
I'm going to get back to stamping so I can show you something new tomorrow too!
Blessings~
Angel
