SC204 Carribean Snowflakes

I really really really like this new Our Daily Bread Designs set. It is called "Worship the Lord" and the main image is the snowy country church scene. Also included are 2 sentiments and a scripture passage from Psalms 100:2. It's SO pretty. For my first card with this set, I stamped the church image on a transparency in Stazon ink. Turning it over I added Crystal Effects where there would be snow and then covered that with dazzling Diamonds glitter and let it sit overnight. For the rest of the card I used Basic grey "Figgy Pudding" papers and Cool Caribbean and Natural White Cardstock. I wanted the "Rejoice" sentiment to sparkle so I used a trick I learned a long time ago to emboss with any color. I inked up the stamp in Versamark and working quickly inked it up in Cool Caribbean as well and then stamped it and added Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The powder will stick to the Versamark ink, but I've tricked it to sticking to the "color" as well. You've got to work fast, but this allows you to emboss with ANY Stampin Up Classic ink. Cool, huh? I've also smooshed the snowflakes in the same embossing powder so they sparkle too.
Don't forget about the coupon for Free Shipping at ODBD this weekend. Kelley has lots of fun stuff in addition to the awesome stamps she carries!
I'll be shopping and then making Christmas cards today! Katie and I work on those Thanksgiving weekend. it's our tradition. :-)
Blessings~

Psalm 23

This card was very simple. I purchased a little paper sampler made by Prima quite a while back. The papers are so pretty. When I first got this Psalm 23 stamp from ODBD I embossed it several times on some of those beautiful Prima papers. I know they'll make quick cards when I need to encourage a friend.
For this card I backed way up in the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge files to Sketch #80.

The card is larger than a standard stamped card. It measures 6.25" x a little over 4.5". I have some envelopes in that size, so I think I'll be using it more often. I inked up a stamp from my new Inque Boutique set "French Quarter" with brush markers that matched the Prima paper and used that on the background middle strip. A quick and easy card. I have another easy card tomorrow and then I am going to be giving you some sneak peeks at one of the GORGEOUS new Christmas sets that ODBD will be offering December 1st. Can you believe that's next week???
Oh, my.
Have a blessed day, everyone!

Verve Meets WSC

I am a very lucky girl.
Well, I don't necessarily believe in luck so I am a very blessed girl!
I won the entire Verve November release.
Seriously!
SO many stamps.... so little time. I'll be making some of my Christmas cards with them though. They're very pretty.
I had a little bit of time to stamp yesterday and of course went straight to Beate's blog to see her weekend sketch. I picked up the Verve set "Ornamental Christmas" and this card came together in a flash!

I'll be using this sketch again for sure. Thanks, Beate!
The ornament tops were stamped on brushed gold paper and cut out. Then I simply used the opposite side for the actual image. Crystal Effects was added and of course a little glitter. There's lots of dimension here.
That pretty snowflake embellishment was a great find recently. I know I am going to wish I had more when these are gone. They're from K & Company. I replaced the matching center brad with one of my own in a red hue. You can't see well in the picture, but it's set on a 1" punch that is backed with a scalloped 1" punch in brushed gold. The papers I used here were all from a paper pad I got at Hobby Lobby recently- "Greetings of the Season". You'll be seeing those again! Can you believe I opened this Handsome Hunter pad today for the first time? And I've had it since it came out. Geeesh.
Thanks for visiting today!
Hope you're having a great and relaxing weekend!

Getting Punchy

Told you I was going to get punchy. These cards were SO much fun! I love playing with my punches. And I have enough, let me tell you. Of course that didn't stop me from buying three new ones yesterday. I might have an illness! Is there a PA (Punchaholics Anonymous)?
Cuz I need to join.

They take up so much room. I was very tempted to jump on the Spellbinders train. I even bought a set from a friend who sold all of her stamping supplies. (That is happening at an alarming rate around me.) But, pulling out my Cuttlebug and dies and all of that is so much more difficult than just pulling out a punch!
I saw these punch ideas on
Mercedes' blog. She has an eye for creating with her punches and I'll be checking in with her often for punch ideas! This set of cards was made for my Godchildren using some older Splitcoast sketches (68, 70 and 113). I find using sketches or challenges really jump starts my creativity.
My favorite is this little pilgrim girl. I wanted the card to be folksy so I added the buttons and gingham paper. I just love this card. It's recipient, Faith, is only one year old, but I think her mom will like it too. :-)
Thank you for stopping by today!
~Angel

Joy to the World

I love this color combo of red, black and kraft. It's this week's color challenge at Splitcoast and it's a good one. I was going to add a bit of gold and tried embossing this image from Joy to the World (ODBD) in gold and bleaching out/chalking in, but my bleach must be too old cuz it didn't work. Oh well. The Disco Black embossing powder I've used here really adds some pizazz to the card. I decided not to color the image in. Digging through my scraps I found this old red velvet paper and punched the small squares out of those. This card really has dimension. Wish you could see it in real life!
I am still decorating my card insides. I wanted to show you so you could see the lovely font from this terrific Our Daily Bread Designs new Christmas set. Isn't it awesome?
If you want to see more cards using Joy to the World, check out the gallery for this gorgeous set by clicking here.
Thank you for visiting me today. Check back tomorrow! I think I'm going to get PUNCHY!
Blessings~

Season of Friendship Sketch Set

I so admire Laura and her sketch card sets. So yesterday when I really needed to sit down and make a set of Thank You cards, I decided to emulate her and make my own Sketch Set. For my sketches I chose
Beate's Weekend Sketch No. 66,
and the November Sheetload Sketch! I pulled out one of my newer sets and paper collections, Season of Friendship and Autumn Vine DP from Stampin Up. I used a few different sentiments and left a couple of the cards "sentiment-less" for future sending, although I sent out all but one of these cards yesterday!
And quite unlike me, I even decorated all of the insides!
Here is one:

Thank you so much for coming to visit me today! I hope to have some Christmas cards to share tomorrow!
Have a blessed day!

Taylor's Sketch

I had a little bit of time to stamp this weekend since Kevin had weekend duty. I don't usually stamp on the weekends since I try to spend time with hubby when he's home and not be holed up in my stamp room. (It makes for a much happier marriage.)
I had already stamped and embossed this Psalm on several different papers so when the time came to use it I'd just have to put the card together. Seeing Taylor's sketch for this weekend I figured it fit my Psalm 23 from ODBD pretty well.

What do you think of the Amen at the end? For some reason, I just wanted an Amen there!

Hope you're all having a great start to your week. Thank you for stopping by!

Transparent Cards

I made a decision this week to make one set of Christmas cards at least once a week. By set, I mean about 8-10 cards. That should be enough cards for my Christmas list with what I've already made along the way. I send out about 70-80 cards a year around the first week of December.

Not long ago I discovered SheetLoad of Cards. This site makes it easy to make a set of cards by giving you all of the dimensions you need and showing fabulous samples all in a downloadable Adobe file. How cool is that?

For my first set of Christmas cards I used their October sketch, some Rusty Pickle designer papers, 2 sheets of cardstock- Real Red and Bashful Blue and a few punches. Oh, and 4 sheets of Transparencies.

The solid cardstock is inside the card and all of the designer paper is on the front. The cards were very simple to make EXCEPT for the transparencies. They are like magnets once you get the paper close so it was a little painstaking to make sure everything was centered. They turned out okay though.
Looking at them now, I think I will probably go back and add some dimension with crystal effects and jewels here and there.
Thanks for visiting me today!
Have a great weekend!

Blessed

I've been so very blessed by some sweet people. I love, love, love getting happy mail and I have been very blessed to have gotten some beautiful cards in the mail from some of my best blog friends! Wanna see?
Here is such a cool dimensional "Pull" card from our very own ODBD owner and team captain,
Kelley Holland!

And look here it is "open"!

SO cool!
She sent some way cool embellishments I can't wait to use!

Look at this card my sweet daughter surprised me with!

And she says she isn't creative?

I got this adorable card from the one and only
Rose Ann!

What a blessing Rose Ann is to the stamping community! I LOVE this cute little bird card! And now I really want that Top Note die!! Rose Ann sent me an adorable cupcake stamp I can't wait to put to good use. Cupcakes are all the rage and now I can use them too!!

I've been so blessed to have come to know and love
Nancy Morgan! We may have never actually met in real life, but I feel like I know her and cherish her friendship! Look at this AWESOME card she sent!

Looks good enough to eat, hey?

I have recently been blessed to have found an online friendship with a special lady who lives in Texas. Her name is
Linda and I know she's a blessing to all who know her! She sent me this extra large greeting!

She counted out a flower for every year of my life and guess what?
There were only 29!

As you know I counted down the days til my birthday this year and was thrilled when
Melissa came along for the ride. I bet she's glad she did since she won the whole Pot o' Gold!
BUT, her sweet card arrived after the drawing so rest assured there was no bias!
Thank you ladies for making me feel so loved!

Lord is My Shepherd

I am loving Becca's medallion! (The tutorial is so easy!) I had a couple made in 2 different sizes and sat them down together and loved the effect. Adding some pearls a sweet friend sent was the perfect touch!
And yes, this is yet another 6x6 page for my book!
I've used one of the newest sets from Our Daily Bread Designs-
Lord is my Shepherd.
The image is embossed in White which looks more like cream to me so I used black and vanilla for the project.
Thank you so much for visiting!

Psalm 23

Psalm 23 is now available at Our Daily Bread Designs.
Who wouldn't want this Psalm as part of their scripture collection?

I knew as soon as I saw this 23rd Psalm in stamp form that it would be a page in my Divine Design book. I couldn't wait until December to show it to you though. I have many more scriptures to put in the book so I'd better start showing you more than one a month anyway, right?
My book is getting very thick due to the amount of embellishments I tend to use. So this page was purposefully on the thinner side. I did add dimensionals under the main panel to give it some prominence!
Hope you have a great day!

November Divine Design

Sorry I'm a little late this month. We've had a busy weekend.
Here is my scripture this month.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5
This verse came up in my Bible study and hit me like a brick! Has that ever happened to you? It's back to prayer. Asking God for the answer rather than relying on my own devices. I knew this verse would have to go into my book.
I found the sketch for this page on SCS. It's SCS 190. The medallion was made using this tutorial of my friend and fellow DT member, Becca of Amazing Paper Grace. It was quite simple.
Looking for corner punches, I was so sad to see I had gotten rid of a couple of my Corner Adorners thinking I wouldn't use them again. I would have loved to have tried them with this technique. Oh well.
I'm going to try making several pages for my book this month. I keeping finding more and more verses to go into it. I don't think it will ever be a problem finding scriptures!
If you're here for the first time and wondering about Divine Design, it's simply a challenge my friend Lori started at the beginning of the year. On the 8th of the month (typically) we (Nancy at Paper Smiles, Jami of More is More ,Taylor at Taylored Expressions , Lori of Make a Difference along with myself) post a project using a favorite scripture. We'd LOVE to have you join us! For more deets see this post.

Have a blessed week!

Birthday Stamping

Okay.... I lied. I didn't get to spend much time outdoors today enjoying the beautiful weather.
But, I'm hoping that Kevin and Katie and I will be going to the Santee National Wildlife Refuge this weekend.
So today I decided I'd like to try and win the new Verve release. The only way to do that was to make a set of cards for the Verve Holiday Release Challenge. I went
Scrapnextra style and made an entire set of cards using the same papers and stamps.
You can read more about the Verve Challenge
here.

I know it's fall, but I picked out the "Paris in the Spring" Scrapbook kit by Autumn Leaves and my Verve "Fluttering By" stamps to make this set of cards I'll be giving as a Christmas gift.

I added some CHF Floral Silhouette stamps on a couple of the cards as well. I'll come back and add the recipes when I've got a few minutes!

Thank you for stopping by and for the birthday wishes. When Kevin and Katie get home I think we're going out to dinner. I hope so cuz I went really light for lunch so I'll have lots of room. :-)

Blessings~

Day 18- FINAL DAY

Today's Challenge:
A Birthday card of course!
Use one of last year's sketches (found at the bottom of my blog) for a bonus entry!

Today is the last day for a challenge! Tomorrow is my actual birthday and so I am taking the day off from blogging. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day with the high near 80! I plan on spending it outside for sure!
You can still play along.
Take tomorrow to catch up on challenges. I'll be back on Saturday announcing winners! I still have stuff to give away and I'll be drawing names from all of the entries so far. I've kept the challenge entries separate from the daily question entries and I have something special for one of the challenge entries! You may want to get your name in that hat if you haven't already!
Important:
I've been very careful to make sure every entry gets counted. If I have not commented on your gallery or blog post for one of your challenge entries than it did not get counted. (If you've emailed me the entry, I will have replied.) Please email me the link again if you did not get a response from me!
Have a VERY blessed day!

Today's Question:

Let's pretend you've just been given a $100 birthday gift card to anywhere. You must spend this on yourself.
What will you buy?
What's on your wish list?

SILVER Day!

I almost feel as if I should apologize for the simplicity of this card. It was so very easy, but a necessity since I've got a headache. Katie is taking a class in Child Development and we are working on a baby book for her project. So, I've got babies on the brain. I pulled out some Paper Trey products for my card. I had started collecting their new ink and cardstock colors as I really love Paper Trey, but unfortunately couldn't afford it after the second color release. {sigh}
(Card Recipe at the end of post.)

How about some silver products to add to our Pot o' Gold??
I'm adding:
~2 pre-scored cards in Brushed Silver
~One pkg of Crayola Brand Paper in Stardust Silver (10 sheets)
~Silver Metallic Accents (DCWV)
~Silver cord- 1 yd & Silver Ribbon- 1 yd
~Jumbo Paperclips in Silver
~1 small vial of SU Silver Shine glitter
~a container of SU Sterling Silver embossing powder

That's all for me today! Tomorrow is the last day I'll add to the prize basket. Hmm.... I wonder what color is left at the end of the rainbow?
See you in the morning with the last challenge!

Day 17

Today is the final day for sketches. And it is for sure another easy sketch!I'm keeping it sweet and simple today! There's lots to do and only so many hours to do it in. Know what I mean?
You can always look back and find all of the contest rules here.
Be sure to ask if you have any questions!
I'll be back soon!

ODBD Set Winner!

I am back from all of my errands and have a winner to announce!
Random.org helped me pick a number and that comment belongs to:

Pamk who said...
I love the Joy to the World set.

Pam, please email me your address so I can get this set out to you in my Friday mail run!

Thank you everyone!
~Angel

FYI- Joy to the World was the most popular stamp set in my poll.
And it really is beautiful!

CLEAR Day!

Don't you love technology? I'll be nowhere near my computer at all today with a day full of plans...doctor, vote, grocery shop, errands. But, yet here I am posting my project at noon on the dot!
My sweet friend Nancy sent me some adorable Pink Poison stamps and these lovely birdies were amongst them.
Aren't they cute? I've added Crystal Effects over the entire birdie image, sentiment and small snowflake. It adds so much!
(By the way, Nancy has some blog candy over on her site as well!)
I found the sketch on Splitocast. It's an oldie- #107. Did you know you can download all of the sketches from Splitcoast and do them anytime you like? Here is a link! I'm going to make it my goal to catch up on the SCS sketches next year. I just love sketches!
Card Recipe at the end of the post!

Now for your CLEAR goodies.
Nobody would have guessed clear is a color in my rainbow, huh?
