Here is a little slideshow of the twins' birthday party.

Kevin and I got the twins a little froggy pool, swim suits and beach towels. Yesterday we filled the pool up and let them play. Faith is a little fish and loved the pool. Brandon cried at first, but warmed up to the idea after a bit.
That's all for me for now.
Have a great day~

Birthday x 2
Today is the twins' birthday party so we are going to the early church service and then coming home to prepare.

Here are the twins' birthday cards. I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch.
They'll get these cards along with their little swimming pool, new swim suits and beach towels at this afternoon's party.
Everything is pretty straight forward. I used Paper Trey colors, {cardstock, DP, ink and ribbons} for my cards. Printed the names off on my computer and cuttlebugged lots of pieces. Although time consuming, these were fun to make.
I haven't taken any pics since I have been here, but that will soon change.
Off to church we go!

Update
Now, we have to get laundry and packing done as I catch a plane to DC at about the same time mom's plane takes her back to the Kansas City airport. I'll have a few projects to share and will update my blog (hopefully) from there.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Weekend Sketchin
What do you do on a Saturday when you have a little bit of time on your hands and a few scraps on your desk? You make Beate's Weekend Sketch of course! I used my Prism scraps from yesterday's card along with some Karen Foster birthday stickers to create an easy card which also uses my Cuttlebug and some paper piercing- but, no stamping. And now it's almost time for me to go get my mom from the airport in Atlanta! Yeah!!!!
Happy weekend!

In the Prism Garden ...
Did you know that Our Daily Bread offers Prismatic card stock by Prism!? Along with our new sets, Kelley gave her design team a color challenge and sent us these Prism papers to use:
I think the only one I didn't use on my card was the Blush Red Medium.
Be sure to visit the other girls' blogs to see what they've created with this fabulous color combination!

Fruit Bowl
{A great excuse to have a second post for the day.}
My favorite of the two releases is "Fruit of the Spirit".
But "Path of Life" is just beautiful as well!
Both sets stamp so nicely and are really easy to color in,
even for the non-colorers like me!
For this sample I used my Stampin Up watercolor pencils freshly dug out from storage! The image is stamped on Paper Trey's Stampers Select white cardstock and colored in, then blended with a blender pen. That really makes the colors pop!
I paper pieced the gingham napkin and then cut the image into squares to make it mosaic. This was really very simple to do.
Card Recipe:
Stamps~ Fruit of the Spirit
Ink~ Palette Black Noir, Certainly Celery
Paper~ Certainly Celery, Black, PT White, DP- unknown
Accessories~ SU red gingham ribbon
Hurry on over to Our Daily Bread and get this set!
Kelley is waiting for you!

Sketch Time!
Since it is the 15th, it's time again for a sketch from Deanne at "Am I a Scrap Addict?" .
I also decided to try the color challenge this week at Splitcoast which was to use Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red.
Card Recipe:Stamps~ Not a one!
Ink~ None of that either!
Paper~ Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Pumpkin, DP from The Paper Studio
Accessories~ Sticker from Karen Foster Designs, Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder and Cake die, Scalloped scissors and Soft Sky ribbon
I DID make a card for Deanne's May 1st sketch but mailed the card before I realized my photo was blurry. I hope to get a better photo and post that one soon!
Have a great day!

Fruit of the Spirit
"Fruit of the Spirit" is one of the two stamp sets that Kelley is releasing this month at "Our Daily Bread". This gorgeous fruit bowl image (which was not difficult to color at all) comes with four different scriptures. AND all of Kelley's sets come with a "Stamped By" stamp as well. I LOVE THAT!I purchased a set of colored pencils over the weekend so I could color in my new images. [And then, of course, I found my own Stampin Up watercolor pencils.] But here I used the inexpensive pencils. Coloring- not my forte, but I was happy with the result. Especially after I added Crystal Effects to make my fruit plastic!
Card Recipe~
Stamps: Fruit of the Spirit, Stitched background (SU)
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Palette Black
Paper: Naturals White, Barely Banana, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: ticket corner punch, Sergeant Art pencils, Crystal Effects, Mike's dollar bin ribbon, MM mini pewter brads
On a personal note, our house has been on the market for one week and no showings. As we need to move in July, I am worrying just a bit. Please keep us in your prayers for the house to sell. God has perfect timing, so I'll leave it to HiM!
Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day!
I sent out about 6 Mother's Day cards this year, each one a little different than the other, but all of them in Black, White, Soft Sky, and Rose Red.{I had packed away most of my sentiments so the greeting is computer generated.}
Card Recipe~
Stamps: Tres Chic Ink: Soft Sky Paper: Soft Sky, Rose Red, White, Black, DP from Autumn Leaves & Imaginesce Accessories: Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder, Michael's dollar bin ribbon, Punches from SU and Martha Stewart, K & Co bling
I'm having a nice relaxing day. We went to church this morning with our two little sweethearts, Mayson and Kamryn. We brought them home with us picking up a Zaxby's Zensation salad on the way home (my 4th one this week!) I took a nap with Kamryn. So sweet. Kevin is making his famous Pepper Steak for dinner. Yummy!!!!!! It's a great day.Hope your day is just as good!

Sneak Peek at Path of Life
Here is a sneak peek at "Path of Life" using Beate's weekend sketch.
I punched out a small part of the image which actually measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and is a lovely serene garden image with a pretty path. And there are also 2 other scriptures to choose from when using this set. I had to settle for a monochromatic look until I can dig out my watercolor pencils and chalks. I am not sure what I was thinking packing those away! In real life, the image sparkles as I used my Sakura Clear Gelly Roll pen to add dimension to the image.
Card Recipe~
Stamps: Path of Life, Canvas
Ink: Artichoke, River Rock
Paper: Artichoke, River Rock, DP by SU
Accessories: Cuttlebug Textile folder, Sheer organdy (SU), oval Punches, Pop dots and Sakura Gelly Roll pen
Since it is Mother's Day weekend, I want to wish all my mom friends a wonderful Mother's Day! I hope it's as happy as can be!
Fact #99
I love cards.
I've always loved greeting cards.
No, they don't have to be handmade.
And yes, I keep them all!

Patriotic Mojo
Card Recipe~Stamps: On Eagle's Wings from Our Daily Bread, Flannel background (SU)
I started my card by stamping the eagle on shimmery white cardstock, coloring it in with my ink pads and blender pens and cutting it out. I attached it to the flag DP from The Paper Studio and then punched out the small area I wanted to focus on. After I had that small piece was when I saw Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for the week. It was the perfect direction for my design to go.
Unfortunately I had to nix a couple of ideas I had because some of my things are packed away and in storage. (Darn it!) So, it didn't turn out as I had hoped, but I kinda like it. What do ya think?
I'm off to work on Beate's sketch now.
Have a great day!

Ink~ So Saffron
Paper~ Whisper White, So Saffron, Daisy D's DP
Accessories~ Computer generated scripture, May Arts ribbon, Daisy D's diecut, Prima newsprint flower, clear button w/ punched circle of red DP, white embroidery floss, Basic Grey rub-on, Spiral punch, Staples and PhotoShop

I'm still working with my Daisy D papers. There are several lines that coordinate so well. My sweet daughter bought me an 8x8 "Beacon Hill" pad for Mother's Day and I used it on this month's design.
The word LOVE is an element I created in PhotoShop!
{ I'd be happy to share, so let me know if you want me to send it to you! }
I'm off to see what my fellow Scripture Chicks have been up to this month~ Lori, Jami, Nancy and Taylor never fail to impress me!
Please be sure to let me know if YOU are playing along!
And when uploading to Splitcoast use keyword BVC08.

".... for Love covers a multitude of sins."
The meaning of this scripture to me?
Romans 5:8~"But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
{ I found some interesting reading on this scripture at Grain of Faith's Weblog. }

For Sale
Anyone want to buy a new home in Georgia? Hubby has a few more things left on his "Honey-Do" List and then we'll be completely finished with the house. What a relief! The realtor was by this morning and we signed the necessary paperwork to officially get it on the market TODAY!I took a few pics so you can see what we've been working on. The kitchen is a bright cheery yellow and in the living room we did a faux finish. Whatcha think? We also painted the guest bedroom and both bathrooms. I may post pics of the other rooms later

But, now that the painting and cleaning are finished, I have projects lined up that require my attention so I'll be stamping!!Sunday, May 4, 2008

Leaning on the Word
I made this card last weekend while taking a breather here and there.
I hope you like it!

Did I mention that I have seen the May sets for Our Daily Bread? WOW is all I can say. Kelley has some goodies for you this month!
April flew by and May is already here! Oh, my!Things are going okay.
We set up an appointment for the realtor to come and take pics.
And Monday is D Day! Please keep praying!
P.S. For AI fans:
Jason Castro is still hanging on. YAY!
It was sad to see Brooke go home though.
